ExxonMobil’s Corporate Strategic Research Laboratory has an immediate 
opening for a full-time staff position in the areas of data analytics, 
machine learning, and mathematical optimization within our Data Analytics 
and Optimization Section. The laboratory is located 50 miles from New York 
City in scenic western New Jersey.

We are looking for creative and resourceful individuals to join our 
research team to develop machine learning, statistical signal processing 
and optimization algorithms to solve a multitude of challenging problems 
involving real-world physics, chemical and engineering data sets and 
models. Examples include large-scale data analytics, inference with 
complex models and missing data, multivariate spatio-temporal analysis, 
and modeling and optimization of uncertain systems. The successful 
candidate will join a dynamic group of scientists performing breakthrough 
research for all sectors of the Corporation, developing new approaches to 
solve our most challenging problems. 

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, 
Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical 
Engineering, or other related scientific discipline, with a strong 
understanding of machine learning, signal processing, statistics and 
optimization. Knowledge and experience in high performance computing and 
mathematical modeling is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to 
have strong communication skills with an ability to interact with a 
variety of researchers and business partners in different disciplines. The 
candidate should also have a desire and ability to grow into new technical 
areas and learn new skills.
