Job Description: Use process and systems knowledge to work with global operations and operations engineering support groups to provide support for existing operating plants in troubleshooting and fixing primary control problems. Configure and tune different PID control schemes such as single loop, multi-loop, cascade controls, over-ride controls, etc. Build interfaces for supervisory control system (such as MPC). Lead alarm management projects for new and existing HYCO plants. Mentor field technicians and provide support to local plant technicians and site management. Provide systems support for Operator Training Simulators (OTS). Provide systems and computer networking support for centralized monitoring and operations support center. Develop KPIs for monitoring health of primary control systems. Develop standards for primary level control configuration in DCS/PLC systems for Hydrogen and CO (HYCO) plants. Use Asset Management System (AMS) to commission and support plants. Work with global engineering department to commission and support primary control systems for new HYCO plants. Must have or be able to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the underlying HYCO manufacturing process. Must be able to understand the different features of DCS systems and come up with innovative schemes that will further improve the operations in terms of safety, reliability and efficiency. This position requires ability to conceptualize and execute comprehensive technical assignments with a high degree of ownership. Prior experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC is a plus.
