Are you pre-med? Interested in volunteering at the NICU? Want to network with March of Dimes Collegiate Council and meet inspirational people? If so, join the March of Dimes Collegiate Council here at the University of Maryland! Every year, nearly half a million babies are born too soon in the United States. Our country's premature birth rate has risen by 36 percent over the last 25 years. That's a serious cause for concern. Premature birth costs more than $26 billion a year and takes a high toll on families. March of Dimes is the largest non-profit organization dedicated to preventing premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality through fundraising, advocacy, and research. Come to our first General Body Meeting (GBM) of this Spring 2013 semester! We will be discussing several events, fundraisers and activities to highlight this important cause and to raise funds, so that one day all babies are born healthy.
