A postdoctoral position is available in the Process and Energy Systems Engineering group at The University of Texas at Austin. The project aims to develop novel approaches for integrating the scheduling and supervisory control of process systems.

 

The candidate should hold a PhD at the start of the appointment. A background in process systems engineering is required, preferably with research focus in production planning/scheduling and expertise in mixed-integer programming and dynamic optimization. Experience with GAMS and MATLAB is highly desirable. The project is sponsored by an industrial partner and the candidate will be expected to interact with the sponsor on a regular basis, providing updates, written reports and preparing technical publications.

 

The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance. The position is available starting September 1, 2014; the review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
