The successful candidate is expected to lead the development of mathematical models which are required to develop innovative new products, processes, and improve innovation productivity. The initial emphasis will be on the development of multiscale models of particulate based fluidic systems and reduced order process systems scale modeling libraries in equation oriented simulators.
The individual must be able to work with a team to define the model requirements.
The individual must be able to develop the equations which govern a given phenomenon.
The individual must be able to implement these equations in an equation oriented simulation environment, including verification and validation of the model.
The individual must be able to use mathematical optimization techniques to solve product and process design problems.
PhD in Chemical Engineering or Computational Science and Engineering
