Open post-doctoral researcher position at Purdue University: Resiliency and Flexibility The School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University has an open post-doctoral position in the area of optimal flexibility and process resiliency for continuous and batch pharmaceutical processes. This intensive research opportunity will involve the development of efficient formulations for assessing and optimizing flexibility and resiliency in both steady state and dynamic processes. These approaches will be demonstrated on models of pharmaceutical processes with specific case studies recommended by the project sponsor. A key focus will be the development of formulations, algorithms, and software that are efficient for large-scale systems. The successful candidate will work directly with Prof. Carl Laird, students in the research group, and industrial collaborators from a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. Successful candidates will gain valuable skills in advanced optimization formulations and modeling of pharmaceutical processes. A PhD and experience with mathematical programming is required. Specific experience with an abstract modeling language (e.g. AMPL, GAMS, Pyomo), nonlinear optimization of dynamic systems, and pharmaceutical process modeling would be an asset, but is not required. To apply, please send an email to Prof. Carl Laird ([log in to unmask]) with the subject heading “Post-doctoral position: Flexibility and Resiliency” that includes a full CV, a copy of a recent publication, and contact information for 3 references. Please feel free to contact me by email if you have any additional questions. Regards, Carl Laird Associate Professor, School of Chemical Engineering Purdue University
