Subject: Learning Opportunity- 301 Ventures Description: To Whom it May Concern, My name is Ryan Walsh and I am a Founding Associate at 301 Ventures (formerly known as Route One Ventures), a venture capital startup here at the University of Maryland. I am reaching out to you today in hopes of recruiting new members from within the computer science department. We believe that comp sci majors have the potential and the knowledge to offer us a technical skillset otherwise unavailable to us. A little about our company: we are an entirely student-run firm that is operationally independent of the University. Currently, we have around $200,000 in capital ready to invest, and we have begun the process of investing in truly revolutionary products such as sustainable pulse jet engines, financial sector applications, and many mechanically and computer applied ventures. We hope to grow our fund to around $2 million in the next year, giving us room to make investments that have the potential to change markets and make a difference in the world.
