Subject: University of Maryland Scholars Summer Research Program Description: Dear Students, The University of Maryland Summer Research Program at the School of Medicine is an exciting opportunity for UMD students who are interested in biomedical research. Students will be immersed in research during the summer of 2017 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, mentored by School of Medicine faculty researchers renowned in their fields. A wide range of research projects in biomedical and health service fields are available depending on interest. The Program includes a variety of enrichment activities that deepens the students’ understanding of biomedical research, introduces them to different academic and career paths, and connects them with like-minded peers including medical students and other health professional students. A stipend of $4,500 will be provided. The Program is an initiative of the University of Maryland: MPowering the State. Deadline for applications will be Monday, February 6, 2017 Eligibility: Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.2 (cumulative) to be considered; a GPA of 3.5 or greater (cumulative) is preferred.
