On Monday, March 27, 2017, there will be an announcement on USAJOBS for a summer intern position as a digitization specialist at the NIH Library in Bethesda. This position is part of the Pathways initiative, a program that provides students with opportunities to explore Federal careers while being paid for the work performed. Candidates may be high school seniors, college student in IT or information track, or in graduate library school. Candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in Excel, attention to detail, and able to review metadata for accuracy. Duties will include reviewing content for potential digitization, processing shipping of materials to digitization location, reviewing metadata for existing digitized materials, coordinating shipping and return of materials, and adding links to library holdings.
This position is being offered at the GS-5-7-9 levels. The position will be filled at one of these levels, depending upon qualifications.
· Full-time or part-time (32 hours per pay period) positions available
· April 24th is the earliest start date
