Registration is now OPEN for the Nebulous Connections Workshop and Nebulous Connections Symposium held on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4! 

The Maryland Chapter of the Special Libraries Association and the NASA Goddard Library are teaming up to present a workshop and a symposium on applied bibliometrics.  You can register for ONE or BOTH days.  Many thanks go to Elsevier as the sponsor of the free workshop and free symposium.

The enclosed agenda provides more information on building and room numbers, speakers, topics, directions and parking information, and other important tips concerning these events, but this is the basic information:

·         Nebulous Connections: The Workshop, is slated for Monday, April 3.  This “hands-on” workshop will cover strategies for data acquisition; data cleaning and processing; data visualization; and data communication.  This will be an all-day event.  Beverage and boxed-lunch service will be provided.

 

When: 8 am-2 pm

Where: NASA Goddard, Building 21, Room 183A (directions to the facility and maps are included in attached agenda and logistics information)

 

·         Nebulous Connections: An Applied Bibliometrics Symposium, is set to take place on Tuesday, April 4.  This exciting all-day symposium will bring together Goddard researchers and special library and information professionals from around the metro-DC area to discuss the use of bibliometrics in practical applications.  Participants will learn more about managing institutional repositories; starting a bibliometrics program; using bibliometrics for collection development; and marketing the library with bibliometrics.   Beverage service and light afternoon refreshments will be provided.  Lunch is on your own-- lunch options are available on site for this workshop or you can bring your own.  There will be networking opportunities during the lunch hour.

 

When: 8:30 am-4:30 pm

From out of town?  Not to worry, a block of rooms has been reserved under “Goddard Library” at the Greenbelt Courtyard Marriott. Attendees seeking lodging should make their own reservations by calling the hotel directly at 301-441-3311. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the Greenbelt Metro Station as well as NASA Goddard.
