Subject: Eclipse Viewing on Campus

The Department of Astronomy will host an eclipse viewing session on Monday,
August 21 from 1-3 p.m. outside of the Physical Sciences Complex.

From College Park, we will only be able to see a partial eclipse, which
requires special "eclipse" glasses for the duration (bring your own or some
will be provided). The moon begins to obscure the sun at about 1:15 p.m.
Mid-eclipse, when the greatest amount of the sun is covered (about 81 percent
in College Park), occurs at about 2:45 p.m.

All observing will be weather dependent.
