Postdoctoral Research Associate Position – Full-Time

 

We announce an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship position in the Texas A&M University Superfund Research Program Data Science Core team, which is affiliated with the Texas A&M Energy Institute at Texas A&M University.  The postdoctoral fellow is going to perform research on human health and environmental issues via data analytics and optimization. Below we provide a brief description of the TAMU Superfund program and qualifications that we are looking for the candidates.

 

The role of the Data Science Core:

One of the essential components of the Texas A&M Superfund Research Center, the Data Science Core serves as basis for translating the data produced by the multi-disciplinary research projects into useful knowledge for the community via data collection, quality control, analysis, and model generation. The core will utilize state-of-the-art methods in data science, optimization, and machine learning algorithms.

 

Required Education:

·       PhD

 

Preferred Education/Experience:

·       PhD in Computational Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or equivalent

·       Expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data mining

·       Excellent programming skills with knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, R, Java, Matlab or similar

·       Expertise in web tool development

·       Willingness to work in multi-disciplinary collaboration environment

·       Excellent English skills
