INVITATION TO ATTEND: CoNFoMa Symposium on THE FUTURE OF FOOD Sep 8-9, Minneapolis, MN How might science and engineering help solve problems? Sponsored by the USDA, the symposium on convergence of (nano) technology in food manufacturing (CoNFoMa) will focus on establishing a collective vision for linking cutting edge research with food engineering across the food/water/energy/sanitation/Health (FEWSH) spectrum, as well as safety and sustainability. We stress the need to apply system thinking to solve the world's most challenging food manufacturing problems, from post-harvest to consumers. Even if your work is not central to FEWSH, food, or nanotechnology, your engagement with this event suggests that your sphere of contribution has implications for our future. We'll be asking hard questions and stress the need to apply system thinking and the need for convergence between several domains, to address the challenges presented by manufacturing food, to feed ten billion people. The impact of combining bio, info, nano, ecology and economics may be only limited by our imagination. Please join us at the CoNFoMa Symposium on Sep 8-9, 2018. Hope to see you all there!
