Postdoctoral Position at Purdue University
A postdoctoral position is available at Purdue University, sponsored by the Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation
of Alkane Resources (CISTAR). The postdoctoral position is focused on process synthesis and process design of processes to convert light hydrocarbon molecules constituting shale gas into heavier liquid hydrocarbon molecules. The individual will work with Professor
Rakesh Agrawal and Jeff Siiorla in the department of Chemical Engineering.
Ideal candidate will have strong background in the area of process systems engineering including process synthesis and design.
The project entails emphasis on synthesizing process flowsheets and concepts leading to process intensification and modularization. Familiarity with simulators such as ASPEN, optimization methods and systems such as GAMS is desirable. A Ph.D. degree in Chemical
Engineering or related discipline is required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and work very closely with the other graduate students performing process synthesis and design at Purdue University. In addition, the person will
interact with a large group of researchers performing modelling and experimental research at Purdue as well as other academic institutions within CISTAR. This project is truly a collaborative project between experimentalists and modelers. The person is expected
to define research targets through process synthesis and design and interact with other thrust leads to enable success of CISTAR.
The positon is currently open and an immediate application is encourage. Interested applicants should send detailed curriculum
vitae and arrange for three recommendation letters to be directly emailed to Professor Rakesh Agrawal at [log in to unmask]
