The Department is consistently recognised as world-leading, heading the ranking list in the last three UK Research Assessment Exercises, in 1996, 2001, 2008 and most recently in 2014. We attribute our success to the wide range of skills and expertise of our students and staff. Our research interests range from the microscopic e.g. molecular organisation and interactions - to the megascale e.g. design and optimisation of enterprise-wide networks. We have expertise in mathematical analysis and modelling as well as in experimental investigation and measurement. In all of these areas we deploy, and indeed often devise ourselves, the most up-to-date methods. Much of our research is collaborative and cross-disciplinary within and across departments, across different faculties, as well as with other Universities, and with Industrial partners both in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Duties and responsibilities As a member of our team, you would be expected to participate fully in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities of the Department, and also to develop a world-leading research programme. Essential requirements You will have a first degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline, as well as a PhD in Chemical Engineering, or closely related field or equivalent level of professional qualifications. You will also have an outstanding research record, as demonstrated by your publications (appropriate for your career stage). We are open to applicants in all areas of Chemical Engineering, but are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Process Systems Engineering, Membrane Science and Engineering, Catalysis and Electrochemical Engineering.
