Anne Farris Rosen, adjunct professor at Philip Merrill College of
Journalism, has been a journalist since 1980, specializing in coverage of
politics, government, legal affairs and social issues at the international,
national and local levels. Based in Washington, D.C., she worked for The
New York Times, The Washington Post and Pew Research Center, and is
co-author of *Deep South Dispatch: Memoir of a Civil Rights Journalist*.

In collaboration with her father, John N. Herbers, a former New York Times
reporter, who covered the civil rights movement for more than a decade, *Deep
South Dispatch: Memoir of a Civil Rights Journalist *is an historic
retrospective that resonates with relevance and immediacy as America
struggles with racial issues today.
