A number of Keegstra Postdoctoral Fellowships are available at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC). https://www.glbrc.org/about/career-opportunities/glbrc-keegstra-bioenergy-research-fellowship-program One of the fellowships is, specifically, available for research in the area of "Molecular modeling for chemical separations". The goal of the project is to develop a computational framework for the design of liquid-liquid extraction processes for the effective and economically viable recovery of bioproducts. This work will involve coupling process modeling and molecular modeling methods and tools to identify solvent combinations that are ideal for separating different classes of bioproducts (e.g., aromatics, carboxylic acids) derived from biomass. The work will involve collaboration between two computational groups (Reid Van Lehn and Christos Maravelias) as well as experimental groups within GLBRC.
