A postdoctoral position is available beginning in January of 2020 on a project entitled “Monitoring and Fault Detection of Nuclear Waste Separation,” supported by the Department of Energy through the Center for Risk Evaluation and Stakeholder Participation (http://www.cresp.org). The postdoctoral position will involve analysis and modeling of spectroscopy data generated at Georgia Tech, use of flowsheets and simulations developed by the Department of Energy, and systems analysis particularly in the area of fault detection. The postdoctoral associate will be expected to work with and mentor PhD students and undergraduate researchers, to interact with researchers at Savannah River National Lab and the Hanford site, and to focus on publications. This multi-faceted project is co-advised by two faculty members from Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Martha Grover and Ronald Rousseau. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in chemical engineering or a related discipline, with experience in process systems engineering. The ideal applicant will also have strong communication and teamwork skills. US citizenship is preferred but not required. This one-year position may be renewed for a second year. Applications should be sent to Martha Grover at [log in to unmask], and should include a cover letter, a CV, and a list of at least three references with contact information.
