Subject: Participate in Research Project - StopCOVID at UMD Description: HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19! Join a University of Maryland research study with free weekly testing and an electronic health device offered through the School of Public Health. Learn more: go.umd.edu/stopcovid We invite you to join us for daily symptom surveys and weekly testing for COVID-19. We are doing this surveying and testing to answer these research questions: 1. How does the new coronavirus spread? 2. Do people with no symptoms exhale virus when they breathe? 3. How well do masks work? Being part of this study involves: 1. When you sign up answering questions about your health, then 2. Every week giving a saliva sample for testing, and 3. Every day taking your temperature and telling researchers about your symptoms. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, we may ask you to give a saliva sample more often. We test samples and get results within 12 to 24 hours. If you are positive, you will be asked to participate in breath testing. These are research tests and must be confirmed by a clinically approved test.
