Dear iSchool Community,
Congratulations on making it to the summer! I am writing with two opportunities to support the UMD Libraries.
Transparency in Research: Leveraging the Open Science Framework (Thursday, May 27, 2021, 10-11 am; Register for free at
go.umd.edu/osfintro)
- The University of Maryland recently joined as an institutional partner of the Open Science Framework (OSF), an online research management and collaboration platform from the Center for Open Science. The OSF system makes it easier for researchers to manage their projects and to collaborate with others here at UMD or across other institutions. In this session, Dr. Philip Cohen, UMD Professor in Sociology, will provide a brief overview of OSF's features and tools and will use his own OSF-based projects to demonstrate the ways in which the system makes research outputs and data more transparent, discoverable, and reusable. This session is brought to you by the UMD Libraries and the Division of Research, sponsors of the OSF institutional partnership.
Play a card game, improve the Libraries' website!
- We are redesigning the Libraries' website and need your help. We are looking for students, faculty, and staff to participate in a short, self-guided online card sorting activity. You'll be asked to group topics together, giving us insight to better organize the information on lib.umd.edu. Complete the card sorting activity at https://study.uxtweak.com/cardsort/cN4n1RSodEHvY4v4oGGkT.
Warm regards,
Rachel
