Subject: Participate in the tVNS and Language Learning: Speech Perception Study! Description: What will it involve? Questionnaires, computerized cognitive tasks, and foreign-language vocabulary and/or grammar learning tasks, as well as vagus nerve stimulation through an earbud, and pupillometry via an eyetracker. Where? All sessions are in person, at Jimenez Hall Room 0202, on the UMD College Park campus How many sessions? 7 sessions: Session 1 the first week, Sessions 2-6 the next week on consecutive days, and Session 7 four weeks later What is the compensation? $20/hour for 12 hours. Participants who complete all seven sessions will also be entered into a raffle to win $100 cash You must be between 18 and 35 years old and meet all other eligibility criteria. How do I sign up? The lab is equipped with a HEPA air purifier, and researchers will wear medical-grade masks and PPE, maintain 6 feet of distance whenever possible, and clean surfaces in between participants.
