Call opened for PhD positions in the areas of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering, Systems and Control Theory and Mathematics The IMPRS ProEng in Magdeburg, Germany, is a graduate school jointly run by the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems (MPI) and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU). In our structured PhD program, talented junior scientists have the opportunity to obtain a doctorate under excellent research conditions, a multidisciplinary environment and close scientific supervision. Through an innovative concept of combining cutting-edge mathematical and systems-oriented engineering research driven by challenging questions arising from the analysis, design and optimization of chemical and biochemical processes, the school has been bringing together researchers from various engineering areas, natural sciences, and mathematics. We investigate problems of process and systems engineering, characterized by both high complexity and high practical relevance. We offer: - A structured PhD program and well-balanced curriculum designed to train both scientific and soft skills - Excellent research conditions, a multidisciplinary environment and close scientific supervision - Support in conducting part of the research at our international partner institutions - Standard working contract (OVGU) or support contract (MPI) with payment and benefits in accordance with a public collective agreement (TVL or TVöD). The salary is based on TVL/TVöD E13, 75%.
