Dear Colleagues:

We are excited to announce that the paper submission system for FOCAPO/CPC 2023 is now open. The conference will take place on January 8-12, 2023 at the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country, San Antonio, Texas.

The Foundations of Computer-Aided Process Operations (FOCAPO) and Chemical Process Control (CPC) have been the premier conferences in their respective areas of process operations and process control. Recognizing the considerable overlap between these areas, and the interest of the Process Systems Engineering (PSE) community in a more integrated and synergistic approach to decision-making across multiple scales, FOCAPO/CPC have been held in a joint format since 2012. The 2023 meeting continues in this tradition, and aims to provide a venue for reviewing progress over the past years and the important problems our community can and should address in the future. The conference programs is organized around four Grand Challenges:

We are inviting you to submit papers in the form of extended abstracts (3-6 pages) for poster presentations addressing these Grand Challenges. In addition to papers focusing on methods specific to operations and control, research addressing cross cutting topics such as safety and security, data-driven techniques, multi-scale integration, and industrial implementations are particularly welcome. Abstracts addressing education and workforce development are also strongly encouraged.
