HOW MIGHT YOU DEFY IMAGINATION?
You’ve earned your degree. How will you use that achievement to reach your goals? Do more with the knowledge you’ve worked hard to acquire and the passion you already have. At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies, reaching over 10 million patients worldwide. Become the professional you are meant to be in this meaningful role.
SENIOR ENGINEER/DATA SCIENTIST
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will develop, apply and deploy rigorous mathematical models of biological systems and manufacturing process technologies with the goal to increase the efficiency of drug development and manufacturing processes. The candidate will apply chemical, biochemical, and metabolic process modeling to produce and maintain first principles and mechanistic models addressing a wide variety of challenging problems across many functions including: drug substance, drug product and drug delivery systems. Responsibilities will include identifying key product/unit/systems properties/phenomena, formulating the fundamental equations describing these, examining modeling simplification and assumptions, implementing models in commercial and proprietary software and deploying these models to internal users via an enterprise modeling infrastructure. The Data Scientist will collaborate heavily with internal stakeholders, as well as document and communicate the underlying technical basis of the models for the benefit of and use by engineers and scientists responsible for delivering processes and devices to operations. Experience in mathematical and computational (in-silico) modeling is required, and experience in homogeneous/heterogeneous reaction systems, separation systems (filtration, crystallization, distillation), or biologic/synthetic formulated products is highly desired.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The dedicated professional we seek is a collaborative partner with these qualifications.
