Subject: Global Medical Brigades E-Board Recruitment Description: Global Medical Brigades (GMB) at the University of Maryland is recruiting executive board members! Global Medical Brigades is an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under-resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. We systematically build community ownership and collaboratively execute programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring. For the 2022-2023 school year, the GMB e-board will work together to bring our fundraising events and medical brigade back. This is a great opportunity for students interested in (but not limited to) medicine, community service, and leadership experiences.
