REMINDER - THIS WEEK:  Early NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Intro
Sessions


The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) provides 3 years of
full support for PhD studies, with an annual stipend of
$34,000, in science, math, engineering, and
social/behavioral science fields. You can visit the NSF informational

The UMD National Scholarships Office will hold a series of early ZOOM
information sessions to help you plan effectively for
your NSF applications. **Current UMD undergraduates at all levels, recent
UMD alumni, and UMD grad students who will be in their 2nd year in Fall
2023 (and who did not apply for NSF in fall 2021) are welcome to attend.**


ZOOM NSF Prep Session #1 - Thursday, March 2, 4 pm - Introduction: This
session will introduce you to the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship program:
what it is, who it's for, application components, how it's judged, and how
you can prepare to apply effectively - whether you're applying this fall or
in a few years.

ZOOM NSF Prep Session #2 - Thursday, March 9, 4 pm - Writing the Essays:
This session will discuss the two required essays - an
intellectual/personal statement, and a mini research proposal. We'll cover
what information needs to be in the essays, as well as strategies for
writing them in a timely and effective way.

Eligibility: You must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident to apply for
the NSF graduate research fellowship. You must be applying for graduate
studies in an NSF supported field.
